Get a grip

My fellow bloggers and I, while being good at many things, are good at shopping. Katie mostly, seeing as Carey and I are broke about 75% of the time. Katie also went to school at the Art Institute for a year, so she does know what she's talking about when we pass judgement. I love clothes, adore them, I've never met a label I didn't love, yet my designer clothes collection is substantially smaller than Katie's, and I guess we've rubbed off on Carey because now, as mentioned earlier, she's obsessed with Tiffany's, and now going to North Park and admiring beautiful clothes. With all that said, a new spring trend that arisen in fashion this season is the Little White Dress, LWD, replacing the LBD of the fall and winter seasons. Now, this is a tricky trend, one that must be executed correctly. While The Three Ninjas admire a brave fashion decision, it is also important to know how to pull off the LWD. Allow me to show examples of what to do, and what NOT to do.

All three of these are examples of NO, just NO NO NO. Just because it's on the Runway, doesn't mean it's okay to wear it to a formal.

This is perfect. Just die for it. With Urban Outfitters, you can never go wrong. This is perfect for either day or night, dress it up or dress it down. Perfect example of dressing down with a fedora, yet dressing it up would be with a beautiful pair of wedges, ah summer dresses :)

This one is a great casual dress. Perfect for summer, beach trip or shopping trip. The quintessential summer day dress.

While we encourage everyone to take fashion risks, we also encourage you to think twice before buying a LWD just because its whats in this season. You can definitely pull off a LWD for a formal event, but it can't be from Group USA, this isn't your wedding, put it back on the rack. If you are to wear a formal LWD, do a little research and make sure you are going to be a fashion icon, not a fashion victim.

I know that this post wasn't so much about our adventures around Arlington, however, it was about our thoughts toward the tricky LWD. From time to time we will use our blog to vent about such fashion mishaps. If you see one near one, report it to The Three Ninjas and we will surely point it out and try and give solutions to the not so fashionable.

Speak of Fashion Icons, Katie and I journeyed to an event hosted by TCU's FIJI chapter this weekend, Casino Night, with our new favorite friend Lacie. We all looked stunning, and we definitely did not fall victim to the fashion gods. I'll end this with some media of how fabulous we looked.

Springtime Adventures

Helloooo out there. Because we have made this blog, we have made an actual effort to go do the fun things we always talk about doing and never really do, only because we want something to report to our faithful blog readers... are you out there blog readers? So because we made a decision to start this blog in order to live our lives in a more fun and fulfilling fashion, here we are reporting our adventures to you, blog readers, even if our only blog readers are our mom's. Shoutout to Lizzard.

Because all of us are native Texans, we clearly love the hot weather, or we would've moved to Maine by now, however, we didn't. We all love summer, laying out by the pool, summer clothes, margaritas, flip flops, and bathing suits, and in honor of our love of summer, most of our new blog worthy activities are going to include outside/summer-esque activities. And this week, was no exception. We also all love the Texas Rangers, not so much because of a love of baseball, but more because the tickets are $6 and the margaritas are delicious. So we went to a game, The Three Ninjas, Ryan and Billy, my mom, and our special house guest for the weekend, Carey's biffle from Longview, Christin! It was a lovely event, even if the Ranger's lost. Look for many more Ranger game outings from us, the stadium is literally walking distance from our apartment, and its an excellent we have nothing else to do event. Following along with our enjoying everything the DFW area has to offer us, we took advantage of the wonderful Main Street Arts Festival in Fort Worth. We arrived a little late, however, we still enjoyed looking at funky art from great new artists and obviously our favorite hobby, people watching. We grabbed a late night bite and hit the hay early. It was an excellent weekend, and while we haven't yet figured out a new adventure, don't worry, you'll be the first to hear about it. Until we meet again blogosphere :)

Do you know how to train your dragon?

Hello everyone. I hope everyone enjoyed our first post. I have been diligently working to make sure our blog has everything you would ever need to know about The Three Ninjas, Katie, Carey and myself. Part of the reason we started this blog is because when we left our sorority in February we needed to have some more social activities going on instead of sitting around feeling sorry for ourselves, so now we're "re-learning" to live in Arlington. Katie and I grew up in Arlington, and Carey has only lived in Arlington while involved in a sorority. So, while on our journey through self pity, we started taking up many activities in the DFW area.

One of our new favorite spots is North Park mall, mostly because we all really enjoy Tiffany & Co, esp Carey ha, and Urban Outfitters. I personally love Anthropolgie, because its spectacular, and Katie likes to buy headbands at Free People. Now there is a reason for all this background info, today, Katie, Ryan and I went to North Park. While doing some shopping at Urban Outfitters and The Gap we decided it would be perfect to go see a movie. We then saw How To Train Your A Dragon, which I 100% recommend! It was such a great movie. I always get super anxious about movies involving animals, and dragon's were no different. Moral of the story, definitely go see it!


After the movie, we walked into Forever 21, naturally and I bought a romper.. not the point. Anyway, as we were going down all the escalator, Ryan, who is a huge fan of basketball, noticed some REALLY tall guys in front of us wearing OKC Thunder gear, and then proceeded to get more excited than a Ralphie from A Christmas Story on Christmas morning when he received his Red Ryder BB gun because as it turns out one of the men in front was Kevin Durant, a professional basketball player. He also got a picture with him, so he's been calling about everyone in his phone book spreading the news that him and Kevin Durant are now best friends.


We decided this information was definitely blog-worthy and went right along with the theme of our blog. So there you go blogosphere, our super exciting day in the big D. Except many more posts about adventures very similar to this. Sometime soon we're making a trip out to Southlake Town Center, so hope you're ready for that day of excitement.
